There is no horn in the Clarinet family. The term horn usually refers to the brass instrument called the french horn, although some people call their saxophones, trumpets and trombones horns, for example; "I need to grab my "horn" on the way to the gig."
The soprano clarinet is a woodwind instrument in the key of Bb. there is also an Alto clarinet in Eb and a Bass Clarinet in Bb. Lets not forget the tiny Eb clarinet, and the big contra bass clarinet to round out the family.
I hope I helped you shed the light on your confounding question.
Thank you.
Edit: The Basset horn is a member of the clarinet family.
The most common clarinets include (in descending order in term of pitch): the small Eb clarinet; the classic Bb soprano clarinet, the A soprano clarinet; the alto clarinet in Eb; the bass clarinet in Bb and sometimes the contrabass clarinet in Bb (8vb the bass).
There was a clarinet made by Leblanc called the octocontrabass clarinet. This clarinet was in Bb and was pitched three octaves below the Bb soprano. You won't be able to find a recording of this instrument.
Hope this helps!

Woodwinds
All I know is that the Clarinet is the largest Instrument family (if you were specifically talking about one family) ranging from the piccolo clarinet to the BBB bflat octocontrobass clarinet. But, overall the strings are the largest group. Violins, violas, cellos, harp, double bass and etc.
Along with every clarinet, the bass clarinet is a single reed instrument.
The woodwind family includes the following from highest to lowest. Piccolo, flute, oboe, English horn, clarinet, E flat clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon and contrabassoon
It looks like a hybrid of the Clarinet and A Saxophone. U really dont want to know
Rule of thumb: Brass instruments look like they're made of brass. Think Trumpet or trombone, the exception being saxophone, which is a woodwind instrument. An oboe is also a woodwind instrument.

it belongs to the woodwind section; more specifically the clarinet family.

Clarinet
The clarinet family includes the regular clarinet, a smaller version that is still straight called the E-flat clarinet, and then several larger ones that have bends or curves in them, including (in size order) the alto clarinet, the bass clarinet, the contra-alto or E-flat contrabass, and the B-flat contrabass. A soprano saxophone looks somewhat like a metal clarinet, and has a single-reed mouthpiece like the clarinet, but it is part of the saxophone family, not the clarinet family - the bore of the instrument and the fingering system are entirely different from the clarinets.

Saxes were made after clarinet. So was tuba.
