"4gb" means that your computer's shift key might be malfunctioning. You probably meant 4GB, in reference to a RAM capacity of 4 Gigabytes.

Note that case matters: G stands for Gigabyte (or Gibibyte), but the lower case g is not commonly used as a multiplier. B is commonly used to indicate bytes,whereas b often represents bits.

GB means gibabytes, so billion bytes; though often it is understood to be not exact billions, but rather 1024 cubed.
