Canberra is the only city in the Australian Capital Territory. To the south of Canberra there is a large area of national park land and a tiny village called Tharwa. To the north west is a small village called Hall. The A.C.T also has an area on the south coast of New South Wales called Jervis Bay. In the early day of federation it was felt the A.C.T ,being a land locked Territory in N.S.W would require it's own coastal port and the area was annexed from the state of N.S.W.

There is no second capital of Australia. Australia's first and only capital city was and is Canberra.
Each of the states has a capital city, as does the Norhern Territory, but Australia's Federal capital has never been any city other than Canberra, the site for which was namd in 1908.

There is a common misconception that Melbourne was once Australia's capital city, but this was never the case. It was only ever the temporary seat of power, as it was the only city with a building large enough to house Parliament whilst Canberra was being built.
