EEPROM is used in computers and other electronic devices to store small amounts of data when power is removed. EEPROM is also similar to flash memory however, the difference is that EEPROM requires data to be written or erased one byte at a time whereas flash memory allows data to be written or erased in blocks. This makes flash memory faster.

EEPROM is used in computers and other electronic devices to store small amounts of data that must be saved when power is removed. EEPROMs are realized as arrays of floating-gate transistors.

What is the function of EPROM?

EEPROMs are used to store user programmable information. • When a device is switch on it will copies all data or information from the EEPROM to the microcontroller (MCU). For example, the EEPROM will let the microcontroller know the frequencies at which the monitor is going to operate. • The EEPROM is used to store the current settings of the device. The settings of the device will not be erased even when the device is turned off. Anytime a change is made in the device settings, the microcontroller updates the setting in the EEPROM. When the device is turn on again, the stored settings are used to set up the device for operation. for more .. edatasl.blogspot.com/2012/03/eeprom-ics.html

What type of memory uses a flash memory?

AnswerFlash Memmory is a special type of EEPROM (Eletrically Eraseable Programmable Read Only Memory)The difference between flash memory and EEPROM is that flash memory is block eraseable and EEPROM is byte-erasable.

Which technique is used to store large amount of data on pen drive?

EEPROM (Electronic Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) is used to store large amounts of data on pen/flash drives. EEPROM is a form of static, nonvolatile read only memory which uses electrical signals to program and erase data.

Where is automobile EEPROM located?

The term EEPROM stands for Electrically Erasable and Programmable Read Only Memory. That's mouthful but it mean that an eeprom is a device(integrated circuit) that can be erased and reprogrammed to set certain parameters for it's specific use. IN an automobile, there are several EEPROMs located in the various control modules used to operate the engine and other parts of the vehicle. Because there are variables (type of gasoline, temperatures, humidity, etc, the EEPROMs are constantly being reprogrammed and updated by the main sensors in the vehicle. There is one MAIN EEPROM in the Engine Control Module (ECM). That particular EEPROM is only reprogrammable by the dealer> Some vehicles allow for replacement of the EEPROM that gives different performance to certain engines. A tech manual for the specific model of vehicle will have that information. That would be a service manual from the manufacturer not an aftermarket manual.
