Historically speaking, the Attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise Japanese aerial assault on 7 Dec 1941 on the U.S. Naval Base, especially the ships of the Pacific Fleet, as well as the nearby U.S. Army airfields of Wheeler and Hickham (plus others on Oahu), with the goal of crippling the U.S. naval presence in the Pacific.
