A 1900 silver dollar is a lady liberty Morgan silver dollar, not an Ellis Island silver dollar. There is no record of an Ellis Island silver dollar, so this may be some sort of commemorative coin.
The 1900 is worth about $17.00. The 1893 is worth a whole lot, somewhere around 1,800 dollars but the 1900 isnt worth as much.
One dollar. Unless it is older than 1900 you won't get more than twenty dollars for a silver dollar. For example a 1972 silver dollar is worth $3-10 circulated. Unless it isn't circulated it is most likely worth $1.
No you stupid person!
There is nothing you can do to make a coin worth more than what it is.
A 1900 silver dollar is made of 90% silver and 10% copper. The total weight is 26.73 grams. So it contains a total of 24.057 grams of silver.
1900 is not a rare date for Morgan Dollars. In average circulated condition, it's worth $8-$10. If it has an "S" mintmark on the back (above the "DO" in DOLLAR), it will be worth a couple dollars more.
A 1900 Morgan dollar (the phrase E Pluribus Unum by itself doesn't specify coin type or denomination) is worth around $24-30 depending on condition. If it's a 1900-S, then it's worth a little more.
If it's dated 1900, then it's a Morgan silver dollar. It's worth at least $20 or so in worn condition, and closer to $40 in uncirculated condition. If you have a 1900-S Morgan, the value is a bit higher.

A 1900-S Morgan dollar is worth $25-30 in average condition and nearly $200 in uncirculated condition.
You'd have to ask a collector. But if you want to know what the silver in that dollar is worth you can look that up at a gold buyers website. I used P3M Refining. http://www.p3mrefining.com/estimator.php All you have to do is enter the current silver price which is shown on that page, select 'silver dollar' and enter the face value. That would of course be 1 for one silver dollar. I just did that for convinience. At the current silver price your silver dollar is worth 8.61USD. Well actually its worth about 12USD. But every coin or gold buyer keeps a percentage to himself.
If you mean a 1900 Morgan silver dollar, circulated coins are valued from $32.00-$39.00.
The 1900 Morgan dollar is a high mintage common date coin, average retail values are $45.00-$75.00 for typical Mint State coins in MS-60 to MS-63.
What you are describing doesn't correspond to a normal 1900 silver dollar, which simply says ONE DOLLAR, wasn't called a silver eagle, and was intended for spending. Nor does the date match standard 1 oz "dollars" (which aren't really dollar coins) because these weren't minted until private ownership of silver bullion was permitted. It's possible you have some kind of replica or fantasy piece intended to play off the design of a genuine 1900 Morgan dollar, but it would have to be inspected in person. In any case, as of 02/2010 it's definitely worth more than $1 whether it's a Morgan dollar from 1900 or a later replica with 1 oz of silver. The former is worth about $14 in worn condition and the latter about $17.
The 1900 Morgan Silver Dollar features the Statue of Liberty on one side, and an eagle on the other. Online collectors are buying Morgan Silver Dollars for around 100 to 300 dollars, depending on quality.
