The Libertines are a british alternative rockband. There style is a mixture of garage and punkrock. Unfortunately they do not exist anymore after the band split in 2005 because of the growing problems between the bandleaders Pete Doherty and Carl Barat. Famous songs of them are their first hit "what a waster" also very popular is "time for heroes". Today Pete Doherty has some succes with his new band Babyshambles and Carl Barat is coming up with his band The dirty pretty things.
