Zoroaster - approximately 3000 B.C. - was the first to believe in a single God. He dedicated his life traveling from place to place sharing his belief. Often - as happens with new beliefs - he was scoffed at but as the years passed he gained a small following that continued after his death.

Zoroastorism also contributed ideas that were the basis of Judaism, Christianity and Islamic beliefs.
