What is a dénouement?

A denouement (pronounced day-noo-maun) is the part of a story that follows the climax and leads to the conclusion. The French word means "untying.

The denouement is the resolution or outcome of a story. The winding down of a story is also referred to as the falling action, which comes immediately after the climax.

In non-literary terms, the denouement is the end result of a given situation.
It is the end of a story
