They are called Saturated fat. They are saturated because they contain the maximum number of hydrogen that they can. On the other hand, if a fatty doesn't have that number of hydrogen, it will be unsaturated.

Saturated fats are mainly found in animal, butter made out of cow's milk is made of saturated fats, while unsaturated fats comes from plants, like olive oil.

What is it called when one or more of the bonds between the carbons of a hydrocarbon are double bonds and it is missing two or more hydrogen atoms?

unsaturated lets go raiders

What are elements and how do they relate to compounds?

An element is a material that has only one kind of atom. For example- hydrogen is an element- it has only hydrogen atoms. Another element is oxygen- it has only oxygen atoms. But if we combine the two elements together, add a spark, we have a bang- and we now have a compound- water. Compounds are 2 or more elements that combine chemically.

What elements do elements and compounds have in common?

Elements and compounds are both composed of atoms. Compounds are composed of two or more atoms of different elements.

When hydrogen and oxygen are combined how many of these atoms are compounds?

An atom is not a compound. A compound is a pure substance that is composed of atoms of two or more elements chemically combined. The elements hydrogen and oxygen combine to form water, which is a compound. 2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O

Which two atoms would typically form a convalent bond?

Carbon and oxygen as CO2 ( O=C=O) or carbon and hydrogen , as CH4 or oxygen and hydrogen , as H2O ( H-O-H) or nitrogen and hydrogen as NH3 or sulphur and ixygen as , SO2 ( O=S=O) Are just a few pairs of atoms that form covalent compounds. There are many more pairs. However, as a general rule any pair of atoms from the right of the Periodic Table form covalent compounds. Metallic elements to the left and centre of the Periodic Table tend to form ionic compounds.

Is an atom organic?

Organic substances contain carbon and hydrogen atoms. Organic compounds are formed by bonding carbon and hydrogen atoms. There can be more elements too. An atom can never be organic.

Which is smaller atoms or compounds?

Atoms, compounds are two or more atoms bonded together

What is meant by the term halon?

A halon is a term given to any of a class of chemical compounds that are derived from hydrocarbons by replacing one or more hydrogen atoms with bromine atoms and other hydrogen atoms with a halogen (chlorine, fluorine, etc) atom.

Atoms and molecules of different elements can do what to form molecules of compounds?

(Two or more than two ) Atoms or molecules of different elements combine to form compounds, like: Hydrogen(atom) and Chlorine combine to form HCL (an acid) Hydrogen(molecule) and oxygen combine to fom H2O (water)

Hydrogen compound or element?

Element It is in the periodic table of elements. It contains only hydrogen atoms. Compounds must contain two or more elements, so it isn't a compound.

A compound consisting of Br and CD ions would be named?

There are many: for example, bromoform-d (CDBr3), in which a deuterium atom replaces a hydrogen atom. Other methane-based compounds are dibromomethane-d 2 (CD2Br2) and tribromomethane-d 3 (CD3Br). There are many more organic compounds in which hydrogen atoms are replaced by deuterium atoms.

Does methane have more carbon atom or hydrogen atoms?

HYDROGEN
