What is a good music science fair project?

you could test your project on a mouse or your dog or cat to see how they react to it!!!!!!!♥♥♥♥

I suspect domestic animals are not that bothered by music though they may learn to associate it as a pure sound linked to particular individuals's presence in the house.

How music travels through the air... That's a gate into an enormous field to explore, and not really one you can do practically at home as you need some laboratory equipment, but it's a really worthwhile exercise in scientific knowledge and method. Try looking at the life and work of a 19C scientist called Helmholtz, who made a huge study of the physics of music and hearing. But beware, the major work he published is extremely mathematical! As a hint, all sounds, not just music, travel through the air in the same way... what is sound?

Music and moods... The challenge is being sure the mood change is not affected by the subject being observed! Probably the easiest start would be a survey of friends and relatives, with care that you don't influence your analysis by your own feelings towards the individuals or their tastes in music.
