What is a good prop i could bring in to school if i am studying Abraham Lincoln?
Well, you could bring a statue, and a very big black hat. Or, you can draw a picture of him, and make a diagram. It depends what your studying.
Or, you could take a playbill from the Ford Theatre. That is where Lincoln was assassinated by the actor John Wilkes Booth while watching the play Our American Cousin with his wife.
Abraham Lincoln created a naval blockade to prevent the south from being able to take part in trading activities. This was an attempt by the president to bring about a peaceful end to the Civil War. The south challenged the blockade by building torpedo boats to attack the naval ships involved in the blockade.
Abraham Lincoln hoped for the victorious and quick end to the Civil War that was dividing the country. To reunite the North and the South under one flag and be one nation again, for a nation divided against itself cannot stand. Abraham Lincoln also hoped to end slavery with his signing the Emancipation Proclamation. During the Civil War, he simply wanted to bring the South easily back into the Union.
US President Abraham Lincoln led the Union, sometimes referred to as the North, in the war to bring the rebellion of the Southern US States, the Confederacy, to an end. Later the "rebellion" grew too large, and became a war. The US Civil War was one term for this 1861-1865 war, the other term is the War between the States.
