Well, Guinea pigs in captivaty, or pets, often need a three foot by two foot cage, with wood or paper bedding. I prefer paper though. But guinea pigs, or cavys, came from Eurupe and somewhere in South America. But if you have a pet guinea pig, and you want it to feel like its wild, then put some wood bedding, yellow or brown hay, and a wood house. If you enjoy your guinea pig having a colorful and exiting cage, put paper bedding (care fresh is a safe brand) and a pigloo.

Natural Habitat: The guinea pig's natural habitat is burrows, in South America. The guinea pig was born and evolved in South America, and like rabbits, they live in little burrows.

Natural Food: Guinea pigs would eat grass and any hay that they could find in South America. They could eat plants such as grass, flowers and dandelion leaves, but don't try to feed them flowers and some can be poisonous.
