What is the largest county east of the Mississippi?

I have looked this up in several places and I am not seeing what I believe is the correct answer. All the responses I am seeing are from counties that are in states that are fully located east of the Mississippi River.

However, St. Louis County in Minnesota is EAST of the Mississippi River, although only a portion of the entire state can make that same claim.

St. Louis County is 6860 square miles and this is slightly larger than the county that I am most commonly seeing listed as the largest east of the Mississippi: Aroostock County, Maine 6,829 square miles

Depending on your perspective:

Either...

A) St. Louis County, Minnesota 6860 square miles (St. Louis County is east of the Mississippi in its region however, the source of the Mississippi river is south of much of St. Louis county so it would be somewhat of an undefined border to determine the county is "east" of the river.

B) Aroostock County, Maine 6,829 square miles. Nobody would argue Maine isn't east of the Mississippi. :-))

It is really unknown what the biggest county East of Mississippi. The biggest county East of the Mississippi river is St. Louis County in Minnesota.
