What is plant growth response to touch called?
Venus fly trap and the sundew plant (both carnivorous) respond
to the touch of their prey.
Mimosa pudica (called sensitive plant, touch-me-not, shy plant
or tickleme plant) also responds to touch. The cells in the leaf
quickly shed water, lose their rigidity and let the leaf droop away
from the touch. After a few minutes the leaf returns to normal.
