Whatever you internalize from his/her conduct as your fault. As guilt tripping and projecting is apart of abuse and manipulation used by abusers to weaken your sense of self and resolve.

If you understand he/she owns their own conduct and self destructive behavior and remove them from the realm of your feelings the injury belongs to them and not you.

Narcissistic injury is not what the narcissist does to you, but what they think you've done to them. Criticizing the narcissists causes HUGE narcissistic injury. Ignoring a narcissist causes them injury. Failing to see them as Gods...ect. Eventually everyone will cause a narcissistic injury to a narcissist and they will devalue you.

According to object relations, between six months and two or three years old. It is caused by inappropriate or inadecuate mirroring. The child looks to it´s caretaker to learn about him or herself, but the caretaker is using the child to support his or her own ego, because he or she is narcissistic. The child, therefore, never developes a healthy sense of self, and must use others to support his or her ego throughout his or her life. Check out Alice Miller´s books.

Narcissistic injury is anything that has to do with the narcissist being threatened with losing good supply, or any supply at that, hurting their ego (false self), or anything that has to do with them in a negative way.
