Sub-atomic particle is the proper term to describe your question. We generally know atom construct from proton, neutron and electron while proton is positron and neutron.

To even smaller scale, it is the Quark that is the building block of the matter.

Particles within atoms are, comprising of the nucleus: Protons and neutrons. Comprising the electron cloud surrounding the nucleus is electrons.

Going even further: The makeup of the proton is two up quarks and one down quark. Neutrons are one up quark and two down quarks and the electrons being made of nothing (defined or measured), hence is a fundamental particle, along with quarks.

Atoms are made up of 3 major subatomic particles. Protons, which have a charge of +1 and a mass of 1 Atomic Mass unit (amu), Neutrons, which have no charge and a mass of 1 amu, and electrons which have a charge of -1 and a negligible mass.
