Yes Depending on the severity of the disease and the frequency
of the flare ups you can qualify for permanent disability. Speak
with your doctors about your quality of life and check with your
Government services office for the forms.
You don't check it anymore that you check an oil filter. You
just replace it at a certain mileage. I replace mine every 50,000
miles. If the filter is built into the fuel tank they you never
replace it as it is a permanent filter.
