Ok.... Here is a list of stuff you will need to perform a rain dance Blue or turquoise clothes Blue or turquoise jewelry Cattail headdresses (optional) Open, leveled field 3 cattail braids Hair in bun (if girl) Make sure you are wearing the blue/turquoise clothes and jewelry, cattail headress and hair in a bun. (if girl). Put the cattail braids in a triangle on the ground. Spin around clockwise saying "rain rain come rain" until you fall over. Once you fall take your time to regain your balance. Get up and ask the creator to give rain and tell him good specific reasons why you and others need it. Btw I think you have to be part native American for it to work (like me) if you are not you can still try...... But anyways this ceremony should not be taken lightly, for if done properly it can work. Remember to do this respectfully as you remember the natives.
it depends...... but this is just my experience with the rain dance. Me and my friend went to a nice open field. we dressed in mostly turquios and blue. Btw no rain was forcasted to happen for almost 2 weeks! The crops and animals in Alberta and the surronding area in which i live were dieng because of extreme heat. Plus my native american ansestors sacred places went dry.... (streams) also the source of our towns water (a river) went completly dry!!!! We turned around in clockwise circles shouting "rain rain come rain" until we fell on the ground, completly drained of energy! sure anough as we were walking home HUGE and i mean HUGE storm clouds were brewing off in the distance. We sang this "the river is flowing" for two hours after. And over night it rained alot...... i dont know if this will work for you, but if you do plan on performing one.... use cattail made headresses and put lots of jewlery on. also use cattail braids as decoration. good luck!
