I believe that this model of shotgun like so many others was made by Crescent Firearms Co.This company made over 100 different Guns which used trademark names for the business that ordered them.Your double barrel shotgun will bring between 100-185 dollars today depending on the overall condition of the shotgun and bores.
That patent date is on several models of Stevens shotguns. Ranger was a trade name sold by Montgomery Ward. It was most likely made sometime between 1920 and 1945.
50-150 USD or so
Sold by Sears Roebuck. Probably manufactured by Stevens.
i have a old Ranger double barrel hammerless double trigger shotgun precision grade 104.3 model# 16 1903R im trying to find parts butt stock an forarm stock an barrels to restore gun.I would suggest that you start your search at Numrich Gun Parts Corp. They may be found on the web. After that I would suggest that you shop any local gun shows(The larger the better) for the parts you need.Good luck in your search.
If it is side-by-side, probably Stevens.
The most consistent answer to this question that I have seen is: Shotguns labeled 'Ranger, Patent April 20, 1915, Proof Tested 12 Gauge' were made by Savage/Stevens Firearms and marketed through Montgomery Ward. However, the design may have begin with Springfield
Most likely Stevens they did make a model #5100
1920's or so.
The Sears Ranger 105-20 16 gauge shotgun came out in the 1930s. The Sears Ranger shotgun has a 26-inch barrel.
100-10000 USD depending on EXACTLY what you have and its condition.
Stevens made for Sears Roebuck
That is a Stevens double. Pull straight down on the forend to separate it from the barrel set. Then open the barrels and remove them down and forward. Far as you need to go.
We've got quite a few parts for that model. email@example.com
The Stevens Model 520 was built on a Browning patent and so marked. Stevens also built the gun for Sears before World War II under the 'Ranger' tradename, so if you have a slide-action shotgun marked 'Ranger' and 'Browning Patent' then that is what you have.
Ive also been looking for a mechanism for the ranger but cant find it i have seen 1 drawing but was useless
From what I could find your gun is made by Winchester. It should say it on your gun somewhere though.
Was there a question there?
Stevens Arms made the Ranger shotgun for Sears & Roebuck. Production ended about 1930.
No sn data in the public domain.
What is th value of a Ranger double shot gun. Serial c4537.It is a 16g
Made for Sears Roebuck by Stevens. There may be a model number on the right side of the receiver (most likely 5000, 5100, or 311) or a Sears product number on the barrel (101.6?) which could give an approximate date.
