What is the fastest way to level up your Pokemon on emerald?

Technically the fastest way to level up is giving it a rare candy because that instantaneously increases the Pokémon’s level by 1. However, because rare candies are so uncommon and hard to come by (even pokemon with the Pickup ability need to be within a certain level range to have a small chance of finding one), I suggest giving it an Exp. Share or using the switch method—send in the pokemon you want to level up first and then switch to a stronger pokemon immediately so it’ll get half the total xp. Beware though! The switch method puts your weaker pokemon at the mercy of moves like Pursuit, which does massive damage to switching opponents before they actually switch out. If hit with one of these moves, your weaker pokemon is almost guaranteed death and you’ll have to use a Revive or go back to a center to heal it. Also, letting it die decreases its friendship level. This means any pokemon evolving under the condition of high friendship will take longer, and high friendship also means the pokemon is less likely to hurt itself when confused. In the ORAS remakes, maxed friendship means the pokemon can shake off any status condition and hang on by 1 HP to impress or “not worry” its trainer. So don’t let it die and high friendship is helpful in both the GBA games and 3DS remakes.
