What is a spherical dish antenna required for satellite tv reception?
The parabolic antenna is really not an antenna at all - but a collector/reflector, which catches and concentrates RF (radio frequency) into a tiny antenna mounted above the dish, pointed into the dish. Since satellites transmit at very high frequencies (microwave), the actual antenna can be shorter than one inch. To strenghen the signal and make aiming the antenna at the satellite easier, the parabolic reflector picks up a wider area of RF.
Yes. A digital TV antenna will give you better reception as compared to an analog TV antenna. But, a cable box or satellite dish will give you even better reception than a digital TV antenna.
The dish is the antenna. The dish shape causes signal that hits a larger area (the surface of the dish) to be concentrated on the actual antenna (the lnb).
You can try a "powered antenna" which is available at electronics supply stores such as Radio Shack. Some of these have better signal gain than the passive type antennae. Good Luck. place antenna near window
antenna can be used in both transmission and reception
The DTV Green Dish is a new antenna, partnered with a dish and forms a highly directional, high gain system. It uses the parabolic reflector to focus terrestrial signals in a similar way to satellite dishes. It is claimed to improve reception with distant transmitters and the makers suggest it will be an improvement in all situations with guaranteed reception of all major channels. Buyers should probably have that kind of guarantee in writing before… Read More
The Rav4 has an antenna for the same reason that most vehicles have an external antenna, to optimize radio wave reception.
An XM satellite radio antenna cannot be used as a cell phone antenna as they use a different type of connection. Satellite signals operate on a different frequency from cell phones and use different technologies in their antennas as well.
It is called RADOMES
no it will mess up the reception
Mine I have Baron extended range Antenna, its very good in reception.
Transmission - radiates electromagnetic energy into space Reception - collects electromagnetic energy from space In two-way communication, the same antenna can be used for transmission and reception By Ratnakanthan
You will need a antenna if you don't have cable or Satellite.
I live in an apartment that does not have connection to an antenna via a wall and i use an indoor antenna insted but my reception is still quite fuzzy How can I improve my tv reception?
A powered antenna will do wonders over a non amplified one. The powered ant. has a amplifier that has to be plugged into the wall to work.
i think it does.
With 3 or more TVs you really need to add a signal booster. It will improve reception and can be added any time your antenna reception provides less than pefect picture quality no matter how many TVs are connected to an antenna.
If you don't have cable TV or satellite TV just network tv using bunny ears antenna can you use a DVR to record shows for eg on PBS?
Try hooking up the bunny ears terminal to the DVR and then the DVR to where the bunny ears connect to at the tv. Set your tv to channel three or four for reception. If you get reception, you should be able to record.
Not if you are in a fairly large metropolitan area where they have XM repeaters all over town. If that doesn't work well, put your antenna on a window sill. Most indoor XM antennae have a 20' cord for this purpose.
Radio antenna is In the windshield. Satellite antenna is mounted in the center rear just above the rear window.
Where is the radio antenna located on a 2000 Lincoln Navigator I have no reception but all other features work?
the antenna is in the right rear side glass.
Bad antenna? Radio needs to be trimmed Bad antenna? Radio needs to be trimmed
Where is the radio antenna located on a 2005 Lincoln Navigator you have no reception but all other features work?
Antenna is in the right rear glass panel.
Aerial is another name for the antenna that is used for reception of the radio.
mainly it is used in transmission and reception of TV signals
A TV tuner card is a computer peripheral designed to allow you to view television stations on your computer. Internet is not required, but satellite dish or over the air antenna is needed.
All tv sets need an antenna if your not connected to cable or satellite.
Yes. Dish TV requires an outside satellite TV antenna. Dish satellite also has a antenna for camping or other outdoor activities, called the Dish tailgater.
The antenna is probably not connected
They sell amplifiers to boost the signal ;)
A TV lets you see an image that is sent from a geostationary satellite in the stratosphere to a antenna or satellite on your house or the TV.
Where is Honda odyssey Navigation GPS antenna located My navigation keeps looking for a signalafter the ten minutes required searching for signal it gets nothing and repeats this when ever started.?
On the rear of the roof (above rear cargo area behind 3rd row seat) No. on the rear of the roof is not GPS antenna that is XM satellite antenna . The GPS antenna is behind the Odometer ( under the dash) http://fileserver7.jpghosting.com/images/IMG_0162_773f8e3c0918f13d1456d0932ab9ee93
A higher and better antenna and lead in cable will almost always help.
No. You will need a external transmitter with a suitable antenna.
In the US the answer is probably not. Digital and analog TV broadcasts use the same frequencies and antennas. Digital TV is more fussy about signal quality than the older analog signals. So if you get marginal analog reception, figure on getting a new antenna for digital. The idea that there are special HDTV antennas is just marketing hype. Any antenna that gives you better digtial reception will also give you better digital reception.
Why do you need a voice controlled TV Antenna? TV antenna are fixed so you don't need voice control. Satellite TV Aerial may require change of position to face the satellite and you do have motorised automatic aerials which changes position when you change the TV channel.
Terk is a antenna company specializing in antenna for both commercial and residential use. They offer indoor/outdoor antenna's as well as satellite and radio antenna.
Yes, it use's a dish similar to satellite TV users.
IN COMMUNICATIONS: Satellite uses satellite (orbiting) relay-stations in Space but Terrestrial uses cable or antenna-to-antenna signals based entirely on Earth to broadcast your television, radio or cell-phone :) ++++ IN ASTRONOMY: Terrestrial means Earth- (or planet-) bound; a Satellite is any natural or man-made object that orbits a planet. The Moon is a satellite of the Earth.
A receiving antenna does "re-radiate" some of the power it receives, but not all. Some of the power it receives proceeds into the receiver ... which is the only way we detect the signal being received by the antenna.
Antenna height is defined as the ratio of the induced voltage to the incident field intensity for maximum reception. H=Voc/E m
They do not make very good antennas though.
2006 Honda civic antenna The antenna is located in the rear windshield. It looks like its part of the rear defrost wires but the top (non-heating section) is actually the antenna. Well, that answers why reception is so marginal when compared to vehicles w/an external, vertical antenna. The AM signals are highly attenuated AND highly directional; AM-station antennas are vertically-polarized...in most cased the entire vertical tower is "hot". The FM stations' antennas are horizontally-polarized, thus… Read More
From a very good antenna or HD sat or HD cable co. converter box.
Your antenna was likely damaged or removed when the wind screen was replaced.
Some are buiklt into the windshield front or rear or side window--needed for radio reception
It's in the window in the rear cargo area on the wagons. It looks like a window heater or something. We get horrible reception with it. Looking into putting an external antenna on ours.
Most of these receivers are being made without a external antenna connector (HD tuner) now.
Is there an audio jack on the back of a 2003 Ford Windstar OEM stereo to install Sirius satellite radio?
I don't think so. I use the FM antenna that comes with the Sirius radio to broadcast a signal to the FM radio. The problem here is that the built-in antenna on the Windstar is a piece of junk. It barely works as is. I have been told that there is a small amplifier in the right d-pillar that amplifys the antenna signal to the radio. If this is bad or if power has been… Read More
Usually Signals are sent from earth to satellite with high frequencies, reason of high frequency is as the frequency increases the antenna aperture which is the cross sectional area of an antenna or size of antenna decreases. Transpoders inside satellite reduces signal frequency to overcome interference. and send them to earth with low frequency. low frequency so it will require large antenna size which is not a problem on earth. Aperture A = (lambda)^2 /… Read More
