Tack is simply all of the Equipment for the horse, such as grooming materials, saddles, saddle pads, bridals, horse shoes, etc. Tack does not include the shovels and buckets used for mucking (aka. cleaning the stalls.)

u go onto the competition section it will say u need 2 outfit ur horse with tack (or something like that) and then u scroll down and if u have bought tack then u will have no horseshoes, no bridle, no saddle, then u have 2 click on each 1 of these and u choose the saddle/bridle/horseshoes that u want. but my question is what is good tack for show jumping!???!

OK, well I've rode both english and western and tacking up is one of the major differences. With english tack you start with the pad, lay it on the horses back farther forward than it should sit and then slide it back into place. After that, gently place the saddle on the horses back making sure it's secure and nothing is twisted up. Next you attach the straps on the saddle pad to the billets on the saddle, making sure that they are secure. Next attach the girth on the right side first using the first and third billets setting the girth at mid-billet(middle hole), then attach the left side to the first and third billet straps just as you did for the other side. Run the stirrup irons down and you're done with the saddle. For the bridle lay the reins over the horses head, on it's neck, unfasten the halter and using your right hand lift the crown piece over the horses head, use your left hand to bring the bit up to the horses mouth, pressing your thumb on it's bars if needed, slip the bit in and fasten the throatlatch and noseband. This also applies to western bridles. for the western saddle lay the pad and saddle the same way as above, then assuming the girth is attached on the right side reach under and grab the girth bring it up and begin looping the latigo/tie strap through the buckle end until it's snug, then fasten it down, you can either tie the strap or loop it through the keeper on the saddle. There you have it, how to tack up, english or western.

On howrse, you need English Tack for everything except barrel racing, for which you should buy Western Tack for a better performance.
