Its easy, uppercase and lowercase. If you are playing piano the treble clef means you play with your right hand and the bass clef means you play with your left hand.

The treble line is normally that which carries the melody, whereas the bass line - indicated by the bass clef, has the underpinning bass.

The treble clef is one of two clefs used for the piano - the other is the bass clef. The treble clef is used in writing music to signify that the notes will be higher than if they were written in the same place on the bass clef. In other instruments, there can be more than two clefs, but the treble clef still shows the same notes if they are written in the same place. For singing, the treble clef is used for women and the bass clef is used for men.

The treble clef represents a higher range of notes than the bass clef. On a piano score, the treble normally has notes played by the right hand.

Clef means the pitch of a note. Treble is the highest part of an instrument. So the treble clef, which is located on the second line of the staff, is used when playing high notes.

What key does a flute play in?

The piano uses both the Treble clef (for higher pitches) and the Bass clef (for lower pitches). It plays in the key of C. Sometimes it is misinterpreted that the Treble clef is for the rigth hand and the Bass clef if for the left hand. This isn't true. Both hands can use the Treble clef or Bass clef, or even the right hand can use the Bass clef and the left hand can use the Treble clef.

What clef does a cello play?

Music for 'cello is usually written in the bass, or F, cleff. However, as the violoncello has a very wide range, from very low to very high, music is sometimes written in the tenor cleff (a C cleff which shows where middle C is) or in treble cleff. Writting in these cleffs obviates the use of hard-to-read ledger lines above the staff.
