There was a debate on women's fashion in the Gilded Age because not everyone agreed on the change. Women wanted a change in the way they dressed because it was uncomfortable, hard to manage, and also had some serious health effects. Men did not like the change and didn't want women speaking out against them. Women began wearing a dress called the bloomer dress and were ridiculed by men for the foolish costume showing they're undergarments (a pair of Turkish trousers). In the end women won the rights to dress differently and many more movements began soon after.
Women should not be allowed to shrink the limitations of there dresses. In the process of shrinking the limitations women were able to have more fashion options. The corsets were hideous and made them look too skinny. Their waste lines were a small as a barbie dolls. It was real bad back then. If I were them I couldn't have stood it. They had to wear them because the men were in charge and the men found them attractive. That is what the fashion debate was about.
Women wanted to dress how they wanted to, not what they were forced to wear by men.
Becuse women would try to shrink the limitations and express their selves. Which was not allowed so the women wuld try to debate to get away from all of the petticoats long dresses corsets and more of the akinising clothes!
