∙ 7y agoAn antibody has two side arms (Fab portion) and a stem (Fc portion). The side arms are the recognition sites for specific antigens such as foreign proteins to the host and they have antigen-bindinig sites for the antigen to bind to. The stem activates the host's defense system.
