Lewis acid is an electron acceptor / Lewis base is an electron donor. It is helpful to use this definition of acid and base in (1) organic chemistry (2) also when there are no Hydrogens present in the molecule. BF3 is a Lewis acid it seeks out and can accept electrons.

a lewis acid is the one which can accept a pair of electrons while a lewis base is the one which can donate a pair of electrons.....e.g H+ is a lewis acid as it can accept one electron to get rid of positive charge and one more electron to complete its outer most shell which can accomodate two electrons...
