Why do things float and some things sink?

Things that float in a fluid are less dense than the fluid. Things that sink in a fluid are more dense than the fluid.

How many raviolis in one cup?

I signed up for an account here JUST because of the previous answer saying there are eight ounces in one cup. There are fluid ounces (the ounces in a measuring cup) and there are weighted ounces (the ounces on a scale). Obviously, if you throw lead fishing shot into a 1 cup measuring cup, it does NOT weigh 8 ounces (which is eight ounces of fluid ounces). Anyway, the amount of moisture in ricotta types and brands varies but on average one measured cup of ricotta is about 9 ounces;some higher end ricotta is bit "drier" and can give you 10 ounces of ricotta per measured fluid ounce cup. Consequently if you buy a 16 ounce pound of ricotta of your average grocery store variety, you have about 1 3/4 cups of ricotta; it's less than 1 2/3 cups if the ricotta is a bit drier. (There's also ricotta that looks/acts more like mozzarella, but that's a whole 'nother conversation - lol. Ricotta actually means "recooked" and a lot of cheeses can fall into that category. I'm assuming you mean the most common type.) The 9-10 ounces vs. 8 ounces doesn't sound like a big difference, but for recipes where the amount of moisture is critical, as it is in some ravioli recipes, it can make the difference in whether you produce an acceptable product. J.

What is 3.4 fl oz?

Did you mean ounces? Fluid ounces is a measure of volume and cannot be converted to grams(mass). To convert from ounces: Direct Conversion Formula 3.4 oz*28.34952313 g 1 oz =96.38837863 g

What are some examples of things that can be measured in centilitre?

A centilitre (cL) is a measure of volume equal to about 0.34 US fluid ounces. The volume of liquids/fluids are most commonly measured using centilitres.

How do you convert 155 milliliters into in fluid ounces?

Each mL equals about 0.033 US fluid ounces. So, to convert mL to US fluid ounces:mL x 0.033 = US fluid ounces (100 mL x 0.033 = about 3.381 US fluid ounces)

How to measure fluid ounces and an ounce?

An easy way to measure how many fluid ounces equal 1 liter is to fill a 1 liter beaker with water and then pour the water out of that beaker and into another beaker that is graduated in fluid ounces. Some large measuring cups are graduated in liters and milliliters as well as fluid ounces, so the conversion can be read directly from the water level.

How many ounces make a quart?

An ounce is a unit of mass. A quart is a unit of capacity. Without some unit of density, the two units are incompatible. That said, there is one more thing. There are 32 fluid ounces in a "standard" US quart.

2 oz how many tablespoon?

One tablespoon is 1/2 fluid ounce. 8 fluid ounces per cup. But these are FLUID ounces, not the same as weight ounces. For weight ounces the number of tablespoons will depend on the food. 2 oz of salt will be fewer tablespoons than 2 oz of some less dense food, like corn flakes.
