Environmental factors can affect health in many ways. First one must recognize that what constitutes there environment is there surroundings. I will just list a few examples and situations. Beach Swimming Water;Dumping of car chemicals on the ground, or into stormwater drain. Using fertilizers that contribute to overgrowth of algae. Not picking up animal waste products. Over harvesting nature's filter feeders (oysters). Animals- Mosquito's; malaria, West Nile Virus, Dengue Fever, Yellow Fever (must eliminate breeding grounds) Rodents-Hantavirus, Plague (eliminate harborage conditions i.e. excessive trash, open dumpsters) Domesticated Animals-rabies (must vaccinate our animals). Indoor; lead paint, mold in air ducts.Occupational; chemical exposure. There are way to many examples and situations to mention, but to get a better idea check out your local health departments website, and look under environmental health to see what they monitor.
