An omnibus is several smaller books condensed into one thick book. An example of this would be the newer releases of most of LJ Smith's books. The Night World Series, for example, came out as individual books in the nineties. The first nine have been re-released in three omnibus books containing three books each.

The word "omnibus" means a collection of separate items within a single form, as in laws, or stamp issues.

In transportation, omnibus is an outdated term for public transportation buses in the United Kingdom.

Webster's New World dictionary defines "omnibus" as dealing with many things at one time.
