Ban whaling altogether. There is really no need for it now. With all the products formerly gleaned from whales available now from other sources, it is really foolish to continue to harvest these great creatures. everyone try and help the blue whale now!

∙ 12y agoBlue whales are endangered because of commercial hunting and fishing, water pollution, and habitat reduction. To help repopulate blue whales, it would be necessary to stop poaching and such, limit commercial fishing areas, and perhaps make closed sanctuaries for blue whales.

But, by 1970 330,000 blue whales had been caught & killed in the Antarctic, 33,000 in the rest of the Southern Hemisphere, 8,200 in the North Pacific, and 7,000 in the North Atlantic. The largest original population, in the Antarctic, had been reduced to 0.15% its original count.
Now that the hunting of these giant animals is banned, their numbers has started to increase and I don't think they will go extinct.
