What is cellular translation?
In genetic processes, translation is the process by which the genetic code in messenger RNA is used to make proteins. (from the English language word for deciphering foreign meanings.)
The term "translation" can be generally defined as the action of interpretation of the meaning of a text, and production of an equivalent text that communicates the same message in another language. In geometry and physics, translation is the relocation of the position of points or objects. In cellular reproduction, translation is the first stage of protein biosynthesis.
Translation involves taking the message that's in the messenger RNA and in a sense decoding the message from the language of nucleic acids to the language of proteins or polypeptides. For translation to happen, the messenger RNA goes to the cytoplasm where it is attached to a cellular structure called a ribosome.
