Deficiency disease is caused by deficiency of certain things, commonly vitamins, minerals or other food ingredients, in body.
Vitamin B complex is a group of water soluble substances. These are: Vitamin B1 is called Thiamine. It's deficiency causes Beriberi desease and Wernicke's encephalopathy. Vitamin B2 is called Riboflavin Vitamin B4 is called Nicotinic acid. It's deficiency leads to Pellagra desease. Vitamin B6 is called Pyridoxine
Rickets in children and osteomalacia are examples of deficiency diseases due to vitamin deficiency. Scurvy is an example of vitamin C deficiency. Beriberi is an example of vitamin B one deficiency.
