Up to a point, Fairy Tales- and fantasy in general, was a forerunner of Science Fiction. Anderson ( Hans Christian, not Gerry) used some elements of science fiction in one of his stories to make things believable. In the Little mermaid it was explained that Mermaids have a natural lifespan of 300 years ( three times the Human maximum) but at the end of this span they disintegrate or dissolve into the water- this explains the lack of Mermaid fossils and is not too different from UFO"s that explode or vanish when they get too close to observers. There is a surprising overlap. The science fiction plot of Suspended Animation was pioneered by such characters as Aurora ( Sleeping Beauty) and Snow White. Mermaid I have already mentioned. one genre borrows from the other. Sci Fi has a ( scientific) explanation whereas fantasy uses magic and supernatural powers. It can be argued that Pinocchio ( written in l870"s) owes a lot to Frankenstein.
A goon is a thug where as a goblet is drinking glass with an arm and base attached to its end, common when drinking wine a goblin how ever is an evil fairy or elf that is only interested in causing mischief amongst people.

It is a childrens Fairy Story and as such is pure fantasy.
The difference is a Golem is created by clay and magic a Fairy is organic born from other fairies.

A fairy tale is a type of fictional story that often includes magical elements, fantastical creatures, and a moral lesson. Fictional stories, on the other hand, can encompass a wide range of genres and themes beyond just fairy tales, including science fiction, mystery, romance, etc. Fairy tales are a specific subcategory of fictional stories.
