ANSWER: The DISTRIBUTOR was the same single point type used on all 1969 Pontiac V8s, except for the extremely rare optional "magnetic pulse" electronic distributors made. The timing curve and initial timing setting was varied for each engine application. The CARBURETOR was a 750cfm Quadrajet.

No the distributor gear that is on the end of the distributor is to small for the big block cam shaft.
on this old distributor there is a cap that holds the wires in place on the distributor. Is there a trick to remove top cap?
