It don't have 1. You will have to splice into the fuel line fitting at the back of the TBI housing.
It is usually in the carburetor. Take the fuel line off and unscrew the fitting. It should be sitting in the housing with a spring behind it.
If it's equipped with a quadrajet, you probably need to unhook the fuel line going to the carb and remove the large hex fitting that screws into the carb. the filter is in that housing.
(1) Locate the fuel pump electrical connection and disconnect it. (2) Start the engine and let it run until it stalls for lack of fuel (3) Unscrew the fuel filler cap to relieve any pressure in the tank (4) Relieve any remaining pressure in the system by placing a shop rag around the fuel line fitting at the top of the filter housing and slowly opening the fuel line fitting, allowiing the fuel to completely stop flowing.
* Relieve the fuel pressure * Remove the rear seat * Remove the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit access cover.Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit assembly and set the cover and wiring harness aside * Hold the sides of the fuel line quick disconnect connector, completely depress the connector tabs and pull out the tube inserted in the retainer.Disconnect both fuel lines * Remove the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit six mounting screws * Carefully meneuver the fuel level sending unit assembly out fuel tank as far as possible * slide the hose clamp down the hose and remove the hose from the fitting * Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector from the cover * Set the fuel level sending unit and cover assembly aside * Reach inside the fuel tank, depress the lock on the fuel pump housing and withdraw the fuel pump and housing assembly from the fuel tank * Carefully pry the fuel strainer off the fuel pump.Remove the fuel hose from the fuel pump outlet fitting * Depress the locking tabs and separate the two halves of the fuel pump housing * Remove the fuel pump from the fuel pump housing
the fuel filter is located inside a fitting on the carburetor, where the fuel line goes into the carb....hold the fitting with a 1" wrench while you break loose the fuel line with a 5/8 wrench, unscrew the fuel line and then break loose and unscrew the fitting
The fuel filter is located on the carb, right where the fuel line goes in. There is a larger cylindrical section that juts out of the front left of the carb (if your standing in front of the car facing the engine). You'll need a 1 inch and a 1 & 1/8 to remove the cylinder but first you will need to remove the fuel line from it - so place the wrench on the section closest to the fuel line and the other wrench on the fuel line end and try to loosen the fuel line while holding the cylindrical housing in place. Keep a close eye on the fuel line itself, if it is seized to the fitting you could twist the fuel line as you loosen the fitting. If it seems seized, use some WD40 or other anti seize lubricant but keep an eye on the line and try again. Once off, wove the line over a half inch and now use the two bigger wrenches to take off the cylindrical housing - be careful when you take it off - the filter is inside and there is also a spring. Replace the filter in exactly the same way since there is a right side and wrong side that goes into the housing. Put the housing back onto the carb and after it is tight you can then replace the fuel line but make sure you do not strip the fitting with an improper sized wrench. Start the car, check for leaks and if it is leaking, gently retighten the fitting.
On my 84 Toronado, 307, 4bbl, the fuel filter is located in the base of the carb. There is a large hex fitting in the centre of the base of the carb at the front. This is where the fuel line attaches. You undo the fuel line from the fitting then remove the fitting from the carb. The filter is in that fitting. The filter is a small tubular type about the size of your little finger. Make sure you have the proper wrenches when you do this. You're going to need a 1"open end wrench for the hex fitting and a 5/8" flare nut wrench for the fuel line fitting. Put the open end wrench on the big fitting and hold it in place, then using the flare nut wrench undo the fuel line fitting which screws into that big fitting. Gently pull the fuel line away from the carb. Now undo the large fitting and remove the filter. Put the new filter in the fitting and screw it back into the base of the carb. Use the 1" open end wrench to tighten the fitting in, but do not over-tighten it. Just so it's a snug fit. Then holding the wrench in place, screw the fuel line fitting into the large fitting. The trick to this is holding one fitting in place while you tighten the other. You want the filter fitting to be tight into the carb base and the fuel line fitting to be tight into the filter fitting. There's not much space to do this and you must be careful not to put a kink, or bend in the fuel line.Start the car and look for fuel leaks, and if found, then using both wrenches, tighten each nut separately holding the other in place, until the leak stops. Drive the car and after a few days check again for leaks.
It doesn't have one. To test the fuel pressure an adapter has to be installed between a fitting at the fuel filter and the fuel filter, preferably the fitting feeding into the filter from the pump.
part of the fuel pump housing, replace complete fuel pump housing
There is a thin round hard plastic SEAL that goes on the 1 inch fitting that screws into the carburetor. That fitting is were the fuel filter goes. Also make sure you did not cross thread the fitting.
ABOUT CENTER TO THE CARBERATOR YOU WILL SEE A HARD LINE (FUEL LINE) SMALL LINE SCREWED INTO LARGER FITTING BEHIND THE LARGER FITTING THERE IS A SMALL 1 1/4 INCH FUEL FILTER INSIDE OF LARGER FITTING
