Horn Effect-If for example your in a job Interview, the first thing you say is "the weather is crap and I hate long days" to your next possible employer, the person who is interviewing you will automatically assume that you are generaly a negative person, and will probably assume all other traits about you are bound to be negative, and will therfore probably not consider hiring you.

Halo Effect- The opposite of Horn Effect; if you come into the interview with a smile and say "Isn't today and awesome day!?", the interviewer will have a straight and simple first impression of you, so he/she automatically assumes all your other traits and personality are bound to be positive and outgoing, and he/she will then most likely consider giving you the position.

When the bible was translated from Greek, there is a passage that is talking about Moses and the translator used the word 'horn' instead of using the word 'halo'. What the translator meant to say was that Moses had a halo, but instead he said Moses had a horn! Apparently, the word horn and halo are the same in Greek. That error was not corrected until much later, but that is why artists from the Renaissance times depicted Moses with horns.

My understanding of the halo effect is that the image of products in a range can be improved by the reflected glory of another product that range. For instance, when Apple's iPhone comes out, although it will be a completely new gadget it will already have some credibility from day one due to the "halo effect" of the success of the iPod product that is associated with Apple.

Since unicorns are mythical creature, the effect depends on the story. In some stories the horn can cure disease. In other stories the horn is simply a horn, or doesn't do anything unless the unicorn wills it to.

It is possible to make a halo effect easily by the use of the artistic filter "Neon glow". Simply make sure you have selected the object you want a halo around, then add a neon glow filter and even eventually play a little with the parameters.
