these are some of the proper treats for your dog:

* Choose treats formulated especially for dogs. These are designed to please his palate without upsetting his tummy. * Offer treats that have added nutrients or dental benefits. * Try giving your dog fresh veggies such as carrots, green beans or broccoli. These are low in calories and high in fiber.

* Keep track of calories in the treats and subtract these from your dog's total daily diet to prevent overindulgence. * Make sure your dog eats his nutritionally balanced food before filling up on treats. * Try to keep treats to under 10 percent of his diet.

You can go to different shops like the "Pet food store, pet shop, ang-pets" They have alot. I would recommend Pedi-gree it's very good for all types of dogs. I'm a special teacher who helps dogs...jokes. Also buy nothing for the "no-name" brand it's very bad. I had pasta from that thing, man they tasted like poo. Anyway pedigree has food for lots of dog types, little, tall, big anything.

There is a plethora of dogs treats on the market today. You can buy fake beef jerky, biscuits, or just give your dog kibble. I have tended to give my dogs actual meat, such as roast beef cold cuts from the deli section in the grocery store. Just cut them up small and give them little pieces.

Dogs have very little taste buds as to allow them to eat all manner of foods. But actually ice will make for a good dog treat in fact they dont even notice the difference between that and say a biscuit. Ive given by doberman both ice and a bit of beef and hes just as pleased either way. Its good as well when your done with the ice in your drink give it to the dog. This is both cost effective and for interest is also used for with British police dogs. Another good one is raw hide which is basically a strip of pig skin a bit like pork scratchings, or pigs ears dont worry about mess their all dried out and contain no blood etc. I know it may sound a bit gruesome but they adore it

Dogs are used to their dog food, and a treat is a once-in-a-while thing, therefore your dog would prefer the treat. Unless there is a specific meat or other ingredient that is attractive to your dog.

Arguably, the best dog treats have few ingredients and are either home-made or commercially made in the United States. They should not have artificial preservatives such as BHA and BHT, or artificial colors, flavors, stabilizers, etc. Old Mother Hubbard makes excellent, simple dog biscuits, as do Blue Dog Bakery and Natural Balance. If you have a dehydrator, you can make chicken breast strips and sweet potato fries for you dog, without adding other ingredients. Do not buy chicken snacks or other treats from China, as they can contain insecticides, herbicides and other potentially lethal chemicals. Cookies that contain corn, soy, or soy grits are not appropriate for canine consumption and could cause indigestion.

Small bits of boiled chicken or turkey breast make excellent, high-value treats for your best friend, as long as he isn't allergic to poultry.
