There are many characteristics of uteri including; they are only found in women, they are located in the pelvis, they are supplied by the ovarian and uterine arteries, they are typically in the anteverted anteflexed position, they are situated between the bladder and the rectum, are approximately the size of a pear when in the non-pregnant state, they house developing fetuses during pregnancy, and they periodically shed their inner lining.
