An objects tendency to resist a change in motion
Inertia can be defined in three ways:
These are all really saying the same thing. An object with mass requires force
to change its motion, or to start moving from a stationary position. Once the
force is applied, the object will move at a constant velocity until affected by
another force. Inertia is proportional to the mass of any object - the greater
the mass, the greater its inertia.
Two Examples
The inertia of an object resists a change in its motion. That is why seat belts
are used in cars. When the car turns, your body is still trying to continue in
the original direction. If the car suddenly stops, your body still wants to
continue forward.
Inertia also tries to keep a stationary object stationary. If you have to push a
broken-down car from the road, there is a tendency to resist this movement.
And a heavier car is harder to push than a lighter car, even with the same
tires.
Inertia is the tendency of an object at rest to remain at rest until some force
acts to move it; also, the tendency of a moving object to continue moving
until something acts to stop it.
Inertia is the property of all matter by which it remains in constant, uniform
motion until acted upon by an external force.
Inertia is a measure of mass.
An objects tendency to resist a change in motion
inertia is the tendency of an object to resist any change in motion understand now did u know if the sun got bigger earth would be pulled into the sun
Resistance or disinclination to motion, action, or change
There are actually 3 kinds of inertia. They are as follows : 1. Inertia of Rest 2. Inertia of Motion 3. Inertia of Direction But nowadays people consider that there are 2 kinds of inertia , inertia of rest and inertia of motion.
Inertia
Resting Inertia and Moving Inertia
There is no "A inertia." Its just inertia and inertia is the measure of an objects to stay at rest or to keep moving.
Inertia is associated with mass
the Law of Inertia state
Another name for Newton's first law is "the law of inertia."
This tendency is known as Inertia.

Inertia depends on mass.
