Interphase is the step in cell division when cells perform their major functions in the time frame it takes before it is tie for them to divide. The cells get larger and create duplicate copies of DNA in order to divide.

Interphase consists of G0, G1, S-phase, and G2. Interphase is essentially the point in the cell cycle in which the cell is preparing to enter M-Phase (mitosis and cytokinesis). G0 is the resting phase (which may just be combined with the G1 phase). G1 is where the cell grows and more organelles are made. S-phase is where DNA is replicated for later division (this occurs in the nucleus). G2 is additional growth before the cell goes onto M-phase. A diagram may help if you see it better. You can look up 'diagram of interphase' and any circular one should be fine.

Interphase is the largest, longest and most variable of the cell cycle phases. Each includes the phases G1, S and G2 in the following order:

The G1 phases mainly includes the growth of the cell. The cell is in its smallest size at the beginning of G1.

The S phase is where the cell mainly replicates its DNA and chromosomes. It is also known as the synthesis phase.

The G2 phase is where the cell grows and prepares itself for the M phase or mitosis. The DNA will start to condense from chromatin to form chromosomes, the number of organelles may increase and the formation of microtubules may begin.

The interphase stage during the cell cycle is when the cell is not currently dividing. During the interphase stage the cell is getting ready for division by growing and coying it's DNA. Also during this stage the cell carrys out all of it's normal functions.

Interphase is the stage of the cell cycle that is not part of mitosis. It is the stage in which the cell increases in size, new organelles are synthesised, ATP is synthesised and DNA replication takes place whereby each chromosome consists of two identical chromatids joined by the centromere.

It is stage of interphase. During this stage the DNA replicates.

What stage of the cell cycle is a cell's DNA copied?

The stage in the cell cycle where DNA is replicated is actually in interphase, before the nuclear membrane dissolves in prophase. * The DNA is replicated at mid-interphase (in the S phase), between the two growth phases (G1 and G2). So replication precedes division by several hours in a typical cell.

Interphase is an in between growth of the cell cycle. A lot of events occur during this in between stage, including preparing for the next stage, which all-together makes up the cell cycle.
