A:Christians believe that Jesus Christ was the founder of their religion. They say that he preached great moral truths and healed the sick, then was executed by crucifixion in Jerusalem, by the orders of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate.

In the gospel stories, Jesus did not really enunciate a mission to the world, but Christians believe that his crucifixion was part of a divine plan that would allow God to forgive mankind its sins, by his death on the cross. On this view, his mission was to become known, so that people would believe and be saved. Against this, Mark's Gospel says that Jesus frequently commanded those he healed not to tell others about him, suggesting that he really did not want himself to become known. Many say that Jesus Christ will return to earth and establish a kingdom of heaven on earth.

John the Baptist recognised Jesus (and His mission) when Jesus went to the Jordan river where John was baptising.

Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Jesus came to settle the problem of sin (separation from God). John wrote :

1Jn 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Answer To provide final and only perfect blood sacrifice for sin, with the power and purity to cover all sin forever (If a person chooses to accept the gift).

Answer War and Division. Matthew 10:34 "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Luke 12:51 "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." Luke 22:36 "He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. "

Answer The main reasons Jesus Christ came to earth are:

1) To glorify his heavenly father

2) To give his life as a perfect ransom

3) To give humans a perfect example

4) To teach about the truth

Answer

Jesus' mission was to win salvation for us (by dying on the cross and rising from the dead), spread the word of God, make miracles, start up the Christian church and lead followers to the Church.

In His own words:

Matthew 5:17 - Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Matthew 18:11 - For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

Matthew 20:28 - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

Mark 1:38 - But He said to them, "Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth."

Luke 4:18-21 - "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

John 9:39 - And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."

John 10:10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 12:46 - I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

[Quotes from NKJV]

Answer Jesus was God in man form. He realized his children needed a living breathing flesh and bone man to walk with them and teach by example the right way to live and the way to return to their creator, him. God also had laws, one of which was if sins were committed, a sacrifice of an animal would have to be made. Jesus was that sacrifice for all mankind. That is why he is referred to as the lamb of God. To summarize, Jesus came to earth to teach and die, so that you would live.

Answer Luke 18:29-30)

"There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting."

Matthew 10:34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.Luke 12:51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Christians believe that the mission of Jesus was to bring people to God and, through belief in him, ensure their salvation and a place in heaven. Objectively, this is a little difficult to explain, since the Jews among whom he lived already believed in God; moreover he seems to have been quite unsuccessful in having the Palestinian Jews, to whom he preached, believe in him as the Messiah.

The New Testament says that Jesus taught some great moral values, but many Christians believe that salvation is by belief alone, and that good works are not necessary for salvation. On that view, the mission of Jesus was simply to be, so that people would believe that he was the Son of God.

Our Blessed Lord had only one mission in this world, that was to redeem mankind - and the world - from its sins. He accomplished this through His suffering, death, and resurrection, thus reversing the curse that Adam and Even had brought upon all mankind and opening the gates of heaven to those who believe in Him and follow His Will.
