The definition for Potenial Energy- is stored up energy due to its position the definition for Kinetc Energy- is energy an object has due to its motion. [motion is moving]

Here are some examples of Potenial Energy

a man on top of a slide, a cup on a table, and a pencil on a desk.

remember potenial energy is something that's stay still or don't move

Here are some Examples of Kinetc Energy

a moving car, a moving bus, amoving train, and a moving truck.

remember kinetc energy is something that moves .. another word for move is motion. one mor example: water in the ocean is moving.

Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. Moving objects, be they large trucks, or planets, or tiny atomic particles, their motion is kinetic energy.

Potential energy is energy that is stored, dormant. It is often based upon an objects position, such as at the top of a hill, or at the end of a taught rubber band. It is only by moving from this position is the potential energy released, and transformed into another form of energy (usually kinetic)

Energy is composed of Potential Energy( or Scalar or Real Energy) and Kinetic Vector Energy, E= EP + EK.

Potential energy is dependent on position and Kinetic energy is dependent on velocity, EK= mcV.

Kinetic energy refers to energy a mass has due to its motion. It is the amount of energy required to accelerate the mass from stationary to its current velocity.

Potential energy is the amount of energy stored due to an object's position. The best known example is that of an object raised above the ground. The potential energy is the energy required to lift it to the position. When the object is released, gravity will accelerate the body and convert the potential energy into kinetic energy.

Potential energy can also be stored in springs that are under tension or compression. Catapults and bows held under tension are also examples of potential energy. The term applies equally to energy stored electrically, chemically and so on.
