In Britain, a 'Public' school is actually a private (fee paying) school, especially one of the great historic institutions such as Eton, Harrow, Rugby etc. To avoid confusion, schools that are known in other countries as public schools (i.e. ones run by the state and funded by the taxpayer) are in Britain called 'State' schools.

If the author meant BP as British Pharmacopea it is worthy for pharmacology, pharmacies and for information about drugs. But if the author wanted to say: British Paetroleum, I have no answer! BP is also British Public, British Pubs, British Prostitutes, but they have no role and place in the Medical Terminology section!
