The Mist is a magical veil that conceils the mythological world from mortals. It distorts their vision, making mortals see what they can believe. For example: when the great monster Typhon is attacking the country (on the way to destroy Mount Olympus, which is above the Empire State Building) and fighting the gods, the mortals say it is a massive storm that has caused all the destruction. This is due to the Mist changing what the mortals see to suit what they can believe.
