You may have blown a front or rear seal. If the fluid is coming from the bottom of the bell housing, then it's the front seal. You'll have to pull the engine or the transmission to get to the seal. Some cars require that you pull both (Mercedes). Jack up the car and crawl under it to determine where the leak is. Wipe the area with a rag. If it's just the pan gasket, then you might as well buy a transmission filter, too, since you'll have to pull the pan. Also check the dipstick tube to see if fluid is coming from there.
