The parasympathetic nervous system is designed to return your body to its normal resting levels after a period of stress. This is done by decreasing heart rate, decreasing blood flow, etc.
Generally causes body systems to relax to conserve energy.

The Parasympathetic Nervous System (PSNS) is one of the three of the Autonomic Nervous system. Its responsible for stimulation of <rest and digest> or <feed and breed> activities during the time when the body is at rest. These includes salivation, sweating, lacrimation, urination, digestion or sexual arousal. Its a funtion opposite to sympathetic nervous system.
