that answer is lost to us. peter was to young to remember his real last name, because he ran away at such a young age in the fear of growing up. this may shock you but if he were to have a last name it would be hook. before peter and hook came to neverland hook who was called jimmy by his friends took in peter as his own. in honest truth they came to neverland at the same time. jimmy was in love with peters mother, who fell in love with peters father rather than jimmy (hook). jimmy took this personally and while peter ran away to neverland for the first time after meeting tink in kensington gardens, jimmy who was close friends with peters mother because he loved her, convinced peters parents to have another child in his stead. hook secretly knew this would trigger peter to never return home when he saw this, and hook was right. he then took peter in, in the hopes of learning the secret of how to get to neverland, and because peter reminded him of his mother whom he had fallen in love with. therefore, hook became peters adopted father before they went to neverland. therefore if peter were to have a legal last name other than pan, it would be hook, which i know is a shocker. hope this helped. :)
