I would urge anyone teaching the Holocaust to make sure students don't think it's a synonym for World War 2. They also need to be aware that it was genocide, and they need to understand what that means.
The students need to be aware of the difference between extermination camps and ordinary concentration camps, as otherwise a lot of what they read about the subject may not make sense to them.
Students also ought to be aware how the Jews were persecuted to the point of being prevented from earning a living. They should know about the Nazi ghettos in Poland and elsewhere, and the names of the extermination camps.
They should have some knowledge of the background, too. In particular, they ought to know that in much of Europe the Jews have been demonized for centuries. The point is that one can't just pick any group for scape-goating. (For example, scape-goating people with red hair doesn't work).

If you could talk to Hitler on a level playing field, what would you say to him? Who do you feel is most responsible for the holocaust? (if at concentration camp) who liberated the camp you were at? Before ww2 were there any descrimintation to Jewish people?
Are you thinking of a specific list?

In the writing and language test of the SAT, questions ask students to demonstrate their proficiency in grammar, usage, punctuation, and rhetorical skills. These questions typically require students to analyze and edit passages of text to improve clarity, coherence, and effectiveness. Students may be asked to identify and correct grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement or sentence structure. Additionally, they may need to revise sentences or paragraphs to enhance their organization, transition between ideas, and overall readability. Some questions may also assess students' ability to recognize and evaluate the effectiveness of authorial choices, such as tone, style, and word choice, in conveying meaning to the reader.
