Group 18 in the Periodic Table is the last column on the periodic table. This family is known as the Noble Gases and is so special because of their inability to react. They have a full outer shell of electrons, which means they are very stable and can be found in nature as isolated elements.

They have completely filled orbitals. The elements obey octet rule (except for helium, which has two valence electrons only) and hence are stable and generally chemically inert.

What is special about a period on the periodic table?

all elements in a period all have the same amount of shells example: all elements in period 1 has only 1 shell all elements in period 2 has 2 shells so the period number is the same as the number of shells in that period

Which of the elements are representative elements in the periodic table?

All of them. "Representative elements" means "representative of the group". A group which doesn't have any representative elements would be a largely meaningless group.Group-1, 2,13-18 include representative elements. Group-1 and 2 contain metals. Group 13-17 contain non metals. Group18 comprises of noble gases.
